Question I need HELP, BAD!!!!!

I cant decide. AC or no A/C?
I said i wanted to run with a full optioned car, but cant make up my mind now. I did some thinking and came up with 3 times i used my ac last summer. do i leave it? Or leave it OUT?
what do you guys think?
I ripped my cruz control out for the same reason, i did some thinking and couldnt think of 1 time i used it in the last 2-3 years so i figured id rip it out.
HELP!!!

The only reason you could use the A/C is of course too cool yourself down. Plus one other thing. When you have the Defrost on the A/C automaticly turns on. Something to do with the Air, the fact your A/C is on helps with defrosting the windshield.

that's it. I love my A/C so I'm glad I've still got mine on..

I'd leave it Brad.

I haven't had mine on for about 2 years now. It isn't a problem in the summer months because you can just roll a window down or take the top off. The only time when it kills me is when it rains in the summer. You can't roll the window down and are forced to sweat your *** off as the humidity goes to 1000%. Pretty damn uncomfortable.

I'd leave it in man It is cool to say you have a 10 second car with AC functional

Sort of a street car benchmark

IMHO no AC makes it a race car. I bet it felt good those few times you used it. Chris ARE 360 is on target in my book. If you ever decided to sell it, AC will increase the value for certain customers.

I wont be selling anytime soon, but it will be nice to have, and yes it works!

Just by taking the A/C out doesn't mean its a race car, there are many other factors that lead up to that.....

I was thinking about getting a new condenser and all the other goodies, I got mine originally recharged, then it all leaked out, so I ripped it out........

My shirts do peel off my seat though after a long drive in the summer heat........its alright though cruising around with the T's off.......

IMHO no ac = racecar.......keep in mind it's just my opinion....nobody can agree on what level of mods make a racecar....it's all opinion...I know cars that are tin shells with no power anything and in their opion it's a perfect street car and they will never agree it's a racecar....which is fine....my litmus test is simple...would you drive it to the beach and cruise around for a week on vacation with your spouse/friend.....yes = streetcar....no = hmmmmm.

Leave it in... Its for comfort yes, but certainly adds to the bragging rights. Some of the Supras out there will be bitchin you beat them, but you have a "race" car with no AC.... you know the deal. Dont give it up.......yet.-

Well you already have a spool and I consider that a race car mod, so I'd take out the AC if it helps you significanty for your 2004 goals.

Funny you post this - my wife and I just had a "talk" about this yesterday. She noticed I wrote "No AC" on my website and she got a little ticked. In So Cal, you rarely need the AC but we might be moving to Houston in a couple years so it will be NICE to have there. I just don't think I can fit a T88 in there with the AC... Is it possible to relocate it or get a smaller condensor? I have to talk to my builder about it tomorrow... Overall, I would like to keep it in if possible...

Obviously, your setup does not require it to be removed.

The question is....how much faster would the car be with it out? What does it rob?...5 horsepower? Leave it in and just turn it up 1/5 more psi.

well, it is good for about 35lbs. i scaled it last night.
It is also polished to an unbelievable shine that took days of work to make it shine, it is nice to have when needed, i did say i was doing this on a full option car, it only robs small power, Its cool. I think it is staying in.
My system has been in for a while, i dont need to move the ac. and PSJ, to be honist the spool realy isnt bad at all, i was suprised by it from what i heard. if i ever do another Race/street car it is getting a spool right away insted of $5,000 worth of 12 bolts and posi's. Is your car spool? if not it might be soon with the power your making!!!! But you will see, it realy isnt to bad, i use mine on the street alot, and only time i realy know its in is tight slow corners.
Either way i think ac is staying. Oh yhea, im in Mass so ac is seldem used!doh!!!

The spool isnt bad. I mean it isnt no road racer anymore, But im not afraid to get in and drive 2 hours someplace with it. It isnt that bad. if you know it is in, your a little carefull, it is nothing. The only time i feel it is in parking lots or u-turns, just feels like im draging the e-break a bit.
PSJ, how is that holding up? I know some people have luck with those and some dont. that is the next best thing next to a spool. but it still could go. so could the spool on the right day.
I did twist the un breakable 1350 billit yoke. i couldnt get my driveshaft out. so now i have ESP working with their prostreet guy to make me my 5th and final driveshaft and yoke!

Bah take it out. The only time I miss mine is on hot, humid, rainy days. But I'm skinny so its not too bad . Of course when I took mine out it was more because the compressor was cracked and I didn't want to spend the money to replace it.
