If you are mounting off the passenger head you need a combined thickness of 2.092". This particular bracket is .492" thick and the spacers are 1.600". My next bracket will be .750" thick as this is about as thick as you can go and still clear the back of the alternator with spacers. The 1/2" (.492) bracket is very solid and does not flex when tightened down.

I originally wanted a 2.092" thick bracket but I quickly realized if I wanted a slide adjustment that this would not work as it would not clear the alternator. Plus it's a lot easier to find 1" and under material. Anyone know what font the LSx logo uses?

send dimensions this way please! That's weird how some have had the stock alt fail on them...multiple times even. Well mine is still going strong and if/when it fails the truck unit seems to be a good choice. I like how this bracket allows for interchangeability between the two.

Off topic: is that a factory radiator mounted vertically?

It's a factory radiator pulled slightly forward since the ac condenser is deleted. I have plenty of scrap aluminum material around it's just I have a serious lack of time to build stuff lol. I will build a fixture so it is easier to make these. I don't have a problem making a few of these as I get the material for the recycle cost / lb of scrap. I should be able to make a few in the next couple weeks but I will try to do a little drawing with dimensions today.

If someone didn't want the slot adjustment I could tighten up the contour so it hugs the alternator a lot tighter depending if you want to use the stock alternator or the truck one. I'm going to try to make something pretty trick looking shortly.

This is exactly what I need. The stocker alternator can't handle my boosted car with gauges. I want to get a new radio but I think i'll sink myself deeper. If you make a couple of these please let me know as I am desperate to switch my turbo car to a truck alt but can't put it in stock location.

Here is a quick drawing I tried to make, I was in a hurry so if anything is unclear let me know. Lots of dimensions crammed in there but it should get someone the basics. The threads are M10x1.5 so use some nice SS socket head cap screws.

I would definitely be in line for one of these....made my own with some scrap steel i had laying around and some small piping for spacers...but they are not machined so nothing is sitting straight...went through a couple belts already....car is a blast to drive minus the worry of a belt flying off at any given moment....pm me or email me at FordMusl77@aol.com.

Thanks in advance even for the drawing and idea. Dennis

Sorry guys I'm not selling these but a sponsor may pick up the design and market them. Here are the rest of the pics. Here is a little GoPro video I made too, didn't throw the belt or have any problems at all

Is the belt stock size?
Is it going to work with aftermarket belt tensioner like Katech or others?

I run an underdrive pulley and use the stock alternator bracket idler. I don't know what the stock length belt is but I came up with a 75" belt that fits nice. I've never measured a manual tensioner but if it had the same dimensions as stock it would work. If it had a different thickness mount, one could make up the difference in the front tensioner strap I made. As is the front of the alt to the tensioner mount is not a straight step. If you look close in my pics you will notice the bottom part of the strap is thicker to make up the offset.

Can you say who the sponsor is yet? i understand if you cant at this time... but seriously someone needs to pick this up. there really are no good options for a bracket yet, i mean the smokin hawk bracket just does not look good cosmetically but i guess it gets the job done.

this thing has huge potential in the right hands.
