this thing has huge potential in the right hands.
i dont think there is a sponsor

you do have the speed inc set up, that is a good looking bracket, so you do have decent options

What kind of GM alternator is Speedinc using. Can you find replacement alt for it in case it's shot?

I posted the dimensions up so anyone could use the design. I believe Motovative is going to use my design and market these brackets since I'm not selling them. I think it's good to have options and especially an option that can tuck the big 145 amp truck alt in tight or the stock alt. The Delphi 145 amp alt is a very well built alternator, much higher quality than the f-body 105 amp alt. You can pick them up at the junk yard from suburbans, trucks, vans etc... for $40-80 and they are better than any stock replacement alternator.

Its a nice piece (Speed Inc.), but anyone doing a budget build isn't going to sink the $400 bucks needed for that setup. Might as well put that towards some V-bands, or a nice Wastegate or BOV.

i thought you might comment on this, but yeah i forgot about the speedinc bracket mainly because of its price and the fact that with that money i could make something on my own(this) and have it powder coated and looking good for much less. The whole thing is, i dont want to make my own(due to time) so a cheaper option is always nice to be on the lookout for.

nothing against yours because it is purpose built while keeping a low cost, something all of us on a budget love, its just not what id like to see aesthetically in my engine bay.

That being said, if this isnt out by the time im ready to buy one in a couple months then ill more than likely be buying the smokin hawk bracket

It also loses a ton of appeal if a sponsor picks it up and sells it a high cost

agreed...totally. i highly applaud the craftsmanship and ingenuity put forth into this, and its definately purpose built, but **** is it ugly having a nasty *** alternator staring you in the face the second you pop the hood.

i am going to keep mine in the stock location, of course im N/A so i wont have any interference. im assuming that the 145 amp alt will fit in the stock location?

just my LS1 with heads and a cam spinning to 7k tore thru alternators left and right. the only one i could find that would hold up is a stock replacement o'reilys alternator. autozone nor advanced would hold up. and even with the o'reliys alternator holding up for a year, i still feel like im on borrowed time before im another $140 in the hole for another alternator.

I hated having my alternator in the stock location, my power steering would leak on the damn thing and waste them. I always thought it was a stupid place, these engines are not much to look at anyways but you this is for a turbo setup. You should see how the alternator looks with an ugly bracket lol! Paint the alternator black maybe? You must have missed my post on the 1st page about the truck alt, but thats ok.

The truck alternator is a AD244 145 amp alternator that is far superior to the stock 105 junker. It can bolt diretly in place to the factory alternator bracket but it requiers a slightly longer belt and it also uses the same 4 pin plug in.

You mean in stock, low, location or relocated to top pass side.

Guys click the links I'm posting lol. I had the 244 alternator in my car for a year before I did the turbo setup. Yes it bolts into the stock bracket in the stock location but requires a longer belt.

Good alternator info, the CS130D is what comes stock on our cars

This picture of inverted stock alt bracket was posted before. Hope the owner can chim in with more details.

It would be great if it fits AD244 truck 145 amp alternator.

the bracket obviously fits the 145 alt, but whether or not it fits the larger alternator in that location is a different story.

I don't think it will work but I'm not 100% sure. I originally tried to utilize my stock bracket and nothing was looking good. I quickly realized I had to reuse the stock bracket idler pulley route the belt away from my pulley. I think the larger truck alternator will hit the throttle body arm.
