I want to do this... Um, what size pipe are you running in series. 2.5 inch? Cause the inter-coolers opening is 2.5 inch.. I like the series, cause you can dump the box, and the under piping.. All you need is a pipe to connect the 2 coolers in front, and use the passenger side piping to hook up to the blower and the first inter-cooler.

The question is, will you loose boost? Cause you have to use 2.5 inch piping.. When in parallel, you split the flow, between 2, 2.5 inch pipes.

So you had no problems doing this?

Default Procharger twin 4.5s vs CX Racing front mount intercooler question

Hey guys I have a 97 SS and I'm getting a D1SC kit for it and was thinking of ditching the twin 4.5s for the CX racing front mount but after reading this thread I'm not so sure. My car is mostly street driven with occasional dragstrip use would the twins be ok for a mostly street car? I will eventually get a water/meth kit as well but it won't be on the car initially if that matters.

I have no problem going with the CX fmic but what's the market like for trying to sell the twins if I do????

You shouldn't have a problem selling the twin intercoolers, people buy them used all the time. Bob

Default Procharger twin 4.5s

No Bob these aren't used they're new in the packages from Procharger but if I can reach my target rwhp/rwtq (700 -750rwhp/690rwtq) with them then I'll just use them, are you recommending I go with the ebay FMIC?
My new setup is an all forged 383,splayed billet caps, LE3 heads, ported stock intake, 847 cam, Holley 58mm tb, Herron billet oilpump drive, Kevko RR oilpan, MSD opti and LTCC, DW300 intank fuel pump and of course the D1sc. I also have an S60 3.73 rear and all suspension along with a stage 3 t56.

700 rwhp is about the max for the twins. See my sig. Some have done better but most hit a wall there. Good luck.

We did make good power with the twin intercoolers on the above C5 at the old shop, they are basically the same intercoolers that are used on the 98-02 F Body. It takes methanol (we used 100% meth) to help keep the inlet air temps down. We also found a large engine oil cooler helped us the most in reducing the engine temps on the road course. Bob
