Default budget lq4 70 camaro

Its been awhile since Ive updated this thread everyone knows here in socal we lost two dragstrips this year but irwindale recently reopened this week so looks like ill be taking this thing out soon. the car feels nasty on the street with 9lbs the tires don't have a change very happy with the performance and drive ability of the car. car made 623whp on 14lbs

my junk just another budget turbo lq4 build this is my first build with a turbo also with a gen III motor so far so good Im really anxtious to see what this thing could do I have yet to drive this car with the ls but from what Ive seen on this site I don't think ill miss the big block one bit.

plans for the car for this year just to get it going i might lean on it a lil lol hope to get it to run 9.99 till next year.

stock lq4 with rod bolts and head studs ls9 head gaskets
truck intake manifold
Ls6 cam
s475 borg warner turbo t6 1.10 a/r
40mm tial wastegate
flipped manifolds
2.5 crossover
4inch downpipe
th400 3500 stall with brake
3.42 gear

here are a few pics

s475's are huge

tacking up the hot side

I was going to pay someone to do the hotside but im glad I didn't wasn't that bad I tacked it up pretty good and had a buddy put some nice welds on it for me along with the aluminum.

You'll easily make enough power to go 9.99, looks good!

as i remember if you look at the maf and connector you'll see the two wires on the end go directly to the iat that is embedded in the maf. here's a good resource http://lt1swap.com/2004vortec_pcm.htm

Let us know your progress on the car, it looks really good. My car is an 80 Sunbird, same as a Monza. Im mini-tubbing it right not for some 275 M/Ts and putting on a boost controller solenoid so I can leave with some power hopefully. With your setup your gonna be standing the car straight up if you leave with much boost! Gonna be a sweet setup.

Lol the 240 also has a sbc 408. Total price in my engine it self not much rod bolts head bolts and gaskets but for the swap probably about 4000 or less that's including fuel system tuning and parts not bad considering that z in the garage the motor cost me more than that in parts made less power and considering it was 13.5 to 1 compression the drivability was far less

Would you mind posting some more pics of what it looks like now? I noticed before the upper rad hose placement which is like mine and cant be good. Nice numbers otherwise. I am doing a turbo in an 80 Z28 with the same manifolds.

Yes I did change the top hose it was above the radiator in the pics I had problems with air bubbles so I cut down the neck of the water pump and used a 90 deg hose connected to a steel pipe you can see it in the video so far it's worked well no over heating in number to number traffic
