Default 11 PSI and Detination + stock bottom end not good

Finally pulled the pistons to see what they looked like and to see if my stock crank looked alright. These pistons are not what put me down it was a blown head gasket that took a piece of the block and head with it. If that wouldnt have went these pistons would of soon.

#3 Piston

#3 Piston Side Shot

#5 Piston

#5 Piston. It was cracked on Both Sides

#7 Piston

This is what happens when you tune at 4 PSI and then add a MMS crank pulley with the same 4" blower pulley. She ran 11.50's that way with a stock rearend too. Not this time............

I hope you didn't scour the cylinders. That one piston looks like it protruded a little too far on the side.

Ha Ha.... i think it happened at the track a few weeks before i blew the head gasket. Im an auto and my tranny had been slipping at WOT and it would bounce off the rev lim and then i would let off it would shift and so on. It would do that on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. On my last run of the night ti blew a valve cover gasket and we fixed it at the track and after that she started to chug and puf white smoke out of the oil fill. When she finally blew it blew the head gasket out on the #7 cylinder... weak point on a 98 head.... and took a piece of the block and head with it. It also blew both valve cover gaskets..... one hellava mess.....
I know Matt its not sapposed to do that...... this time all forged, awsome fuel system, and tuning tuning tuning.
On an off note....Matt did you sump your stock tank????

I am very curious.....

Couldn't you hear it pinging like a *****?

With a tune that far off, I would think as soon as you started to get on it, it would ping and you would know it long before you ever took the car to the track.

HaHa Thats what i was going to say Tommy....... With an open cutout at the track i couldnt hear it pinging. This time it will be tuned right from the get go.

Jer, Nah man tommy wanted me to spray it...... mayeb this time after my 12 bolt and cage.

Matt, Thanks. I have a 98 and i was looking at the Comp Eng weld-in sump. I believe that is what i am going to do and run a Bosch 420L instead of dual 340's and run -10an to the front and run a -6an return. Ill be using your pics as a reference when i have some weld mine...thansk again

What can be done to eliminate knock at shift points on autos? Can something be done with LS1edit to soften the load at that time?

Kyle, and any1 else.... Doesnt it seem a little odd that the left bank (odd cylinders) went south from this? Using N2O for a while now, and out of the few not-so-nice problems friends and I have experienced, it has always been the odd cylinders blowing plugs apart, damaging pistons etc....except in really extreme cases. I started to thinki it was from the fuel being fed to the pass side more dominate then the drvr side, but not so I guess. Anyway, thought it was odd.
