Default Need to decide today.ls1,or lq9.forged 18psi

Okay long story short I need to decide today on either doing another forged aluminum ls1 or a forged lq9.
price is exactly the same, cam will be
232/236 598 600 on 115+4.
Comp 8079 billet wheel ball bearing.
3850lbs fbody with 4l65e,t brake.

Is 23ci with 80lbs?
Does the iron sound better?
Going for 850 whp,is block material an issue?

What would you do?

Depends on who builds them hell look at the aes 390 you cant beat the price. Iron , alum, is good both have surpass 1k to the wheels. If weight was a conern alum.

At that power level I would (and did with my old TT setup) go alum. At 1K and up it makes much more sense to go iron.

I know the feeling, I'm having a hard time myself deciding wether to go with the lq9 370, 390 or just do another rebuild on my ls1.

I'm biased to iron blocks so I would say iron 6.0 block build. Nothing against aluminum. I own 2 ls1s but I just prefer iron blocks for forced induction. ESP. The 4.8/5.3 blocks

Keep in mind, that once you hit your 850rwhp goal, then there's always a good chance that you'd want more.

This is a tough one. What is 23ci really going to leave on the table that a tad more boost can't take care of?

Low end torque? I say aluminum for weight. But that's me.

Iron. It's stronger, helps keep the nose down, and can be bored out further for more rebuilds.
