Why do all the belt drives run small cogs ? Any reason why 5/6rib multi rib couldnt be used ?

ie. Use the inner a/c portion of the pulley and get a suitably sized pulley for the pump..

What size line from tank to pump is required with the mechanical pumps ? I assume the pumps have a good ability to suck ?

I think getting the 6 rib pulley made for the pump is the only reason you couldnt. Aeromotive reccomends 12 an from the sump to the pump and they also reccomended the pump be mounted lower then the sump for a gravity drain. I got on top of a building and my belt drive pump sucked fuel upwards 15 feet in about 5-6 seconds lol. I am using a couple of them on high hp e85 cars.
