What kind of bolts to get for t4 turbo and tial wastegate

Default What kind of bolts to get for t4 turbo and tial wastegate

I bought a turbo kit that doesnt have the bolts for the turbo or the wastegate. Was just wondering what size people use and where to get em cheap?

a hardware store will have them. nothing too crazy just use lock washers (in the correct direction of course) and you should be good.

Thats what i was thinking..anyone know what size bolt works well on a tial waategate?

I disagree. Use SS or at the very least Grade 8 hardware, use a pair of flat washers, and a stover's locknut. (crimped in a triangle at the top.) I learned in the racing industry, lockwashers cannot be trusted.

grade 8, the SS hardware will be tough if you ever need to remove it. it will gawl

very true. I never use SS or Grade 8 hardware. its just a turbo and gate flange. save your money and buy the standard grade 5 hardware. hell i have been working on aircraft for 6 years and have gotten in the habit of drilling my fasteners for safety wire. my R6 had almost every single visible or mechanically significant fastener safety wired.
