I understand. I wasn't looking for a free lunch. Your setup is very intriguing. Hope to see it in the magazines WHEN you run 9's.

LOL yes it is for real, no updates, we turned the car up and did some more street racing, then 2 weeks ago I pulled the motor out of it, put it back in my rx7 to get the stock shortblock record back. Same motor I had in my rx7 a yr ago that took the stock shortblock record then. I put the LTD in storage for the winter will get it back out in spring.

These engines are cheap enough can't you just buy another engine, instead of switching back and forth?

I'll pick up another one in spring to put back in the ltd, I wasn't planning on putting the rx7 back together until the record got broken and it was the quickest/easiest way to do it. I used the converter/billet 76/etc also, plus I have to use fbody accessories so it does add up.

Is it an aluminum 5.3 then? What all did the aluminum 5.3's come in? Trailblazer? I know you and Ryan are busy with projects and the whole 5.3 record bit but I'd like to talk to ya about putting a setup together for my 98 TA.

Yep aluminum 5.3, let me know when you are looking to do a setup. We are booked all winter with other cars but in spring should be free.

Love the LTD. My folks used to have a 1986 LTD Crown Victoria (Panther platform though I think). This is my ultimate daily driver family vehicle dream. Love the hidden turbo idea also .

Didn't realize you were running a L33 all this time. I'm building a similar setup in a S13 nissan 240sx. L33 with a 216/221 Lunati cam and a turbo. I was thinking about the TC78 but I'm curious what you recommend. It will be a 3.55 gear 28" tire with a glide and a brake.

What are the limits of the TC78? mph wise in your RX7...

How loose of a converter do you recommend from PTC?

What does the rx7 WEIGH? I'm thinkinng ill be about 2700lbs wet with driver.

BTW nice build man. The 10-1 CR of the L33 and the E85 are getting along well together. That's what I was thinking when I choose the L33. I'm going with 96lb injectors.

What do you rev it to?

Stock rod bolts?

Are the head studs and LS9 gaskets a must if your going to push it up around 20psi?

shifting at 6500 now, limiter at 6800, yes stock rod bolts, and yes I recommend the head studs/gaskets.

154.7 on 18lbs, made 686rwhp, for comparison w/ the billet 76 on 24.5lbs it made 855rwhp and went 167.9mph

Call Dusty Bradford at PTC and let him spec it all for you

2600lbs with me in it, could definitely be a lot lighter if we ever make it more dedicated race car, but as it is currently it's setup to drive A LOT on the street.
