Arrow Stock LQ4 crank?

I plan on making around 1000hp at the flywheel. What all is needed to run a stock crank? I already have ATI Super Damper. Does it need to be pinned? How about the main caps? (pinned, billet caps) ARP bolts/ studs??

Thanks - Ron

I would pin the mains and if it helps you to sleep at night to get aftermarket caps then get them and yes use studs.

A lot of guys run 1000 fwhp and don't do much of anything. I would just pin the stock caps and use good hardware and call it a day.

new to the LS(x) word here. What do you mean by putting pins in the main caps?

ahh I see, so its basically drilling your caps and block and shoving a dowel pin inside that sits slightly lower than the bearing itself huhh ?

cheers

That's about it. The pins provide more lateral support so the mains stay put (think side to side). Bolts and studs only really provide support in the direction parallel to their length.
