Hot Rod also ran a multi-page article on that incredibly stupid Iron Duke high temp turbo by Smokey Unic...

Update on intake. It's a billet intake and it's 4 pieces that get welded together well they were welding the last piece the top and the welder got it to hot and warped it. So they tried to machine it square and couldn't so BDS said it's junk. Now i'm told at least another 2 weeks before the intake will be ready. Asthey just got more casting in.

I bet you could have Beck make you a lower manifold quicker and cheaper than BDS. Injecting the E85 above the rotors will most likely be all the intercooling you are going to need. Are those coated rotors though? I know I've heard mention of meth injection being bad for the coated rotor stuff. Not sure how E85 would affect it.

My 496 makes 702 rwhp through a 4L80E and a 9" on 87 octane at around 7 psi (15% underdrive on a 14-71). AFR was about 11.5:1 at the start of the pull and 12:1 at 6600.

I don't have EFI, and my timing is fixed at 30 degrees. I have 8.9:1 CR due to 87 octane.

A 10:71 is not really much smaller than a 14:71, so would suspect yours will make very good boost at 1:1.

As far as heat... E85 will help that significantly.

It was 14psi I was refering to, and that was just over the 900 range.

What I am saying is that the 10-71 has something like 7.8L of displacement verses the 2.3 from the TVS. If you have more volume, you need less pressure to do the same amount of work.

With E-85 before the huffer, we shouldn't need any intercooler and I am estimating it should make close to the 1000 at 8~10 psi.

The engine should be around 650 na, and I am having a hard time believing that a 2300 tvs that makes over 900 hp is going to be on the same playing field as a blower that has 3 times the displacement per rev!!! I guess we will see.

By the way, that really sucks about the baseplate.

Well i decided to scrap the blown ls for a turbine. It's a Roll Royce RB211 rated at 38,000hp and in the correct conditions i've seen it running 42,500 HP. Just kidding we did a jet swap and 100,000 hour reaction turbine overhaul so i took a couple pics of the old engine.
