Default New turbo pouring oil out exhaust ??

I have a new PT76GTSH and just started the new combo up for the first time and been messing with the tune to get it to idle. This thing filled my garage up w/ so much smoke I couldnt see the other side...lol. Also it was bubbling oil out the exhaust flange on the turbo and has a small puddle under the car.

I can pretty much see what I did...I have the drain line dropping down about 6" before it goes back up into the oil pan. I can fix this, I was just lazy and didnt shorten the line up like I should have.

My main question - Will straightening this line stop the leak? Or is the seal now trashed and need a new one?

Also.. The feed line going to it comes right off the port above the oil filter... I cant remember what size line it is... It is bigger than my previous setup I had.. How are people restricting the AN fittings? I might have some nitrous parts around.. Should I put a restrictor in it? About what size?

I hope this thing isnt fudged..

It should be fine. The turbo should have a piston ring type seal, not a seal that you could have blown. Dont restrict it unless you want to take advantage of that 1 year PTE warranty, lol.

Just make sure the return is down hill all the way to the sump,
and at least -10 , -12 is better.

and ensure you have a decent PVC setup so cankcase pressure doesn't impede the return flow.

you might want to pull the housings off and clean them out too. it'll keep smoking quite a while past fixing it unless you do.

IS that your return hose that Dips WAY down then comes back up then goes back down? Could be part of your issues also.

That I havnt checked.. i'll take that apart tonight and look. If there is oil in the cold side might be a contributer to the fight ive had all weekend trying to get it to idle with these 160# high imp injectors. ... never thought about oil in there...hmmm. Thanks.

Doubt im going to take the exhaust housing off and clean it though... too much work.

negative....turbo isn't moving that much air at idle, if it leaked, the oil probably is contained in the compressor region of the piping.

Yes, i had to do that too... i installed a drain on my i/c and ran a couple gallons of fuel to clean it out while it was still installed in the car. Best of luck
