Meth users: What kind of IAT temp drops do you see on meth?
#41
fyi- i ran an s91 on a 396cu lsx BS3 with no intercooler on 20-25psi of boost, intake temp is 150* when its 90*outside with an AIS three nozzle setup. temp starts at 100* before the pull,

Don't buy a crappy methanol kit and you can lose the worry. I have Alkycontrol kits in cars now for almost 6 years that are still going strong and without hiccup. For peace of mind, I'd recommend the pumps go back to Julio every couple of years in the off season, but most folks ignore that recommendation. There are more reasons for 100% methanol but I'm eating and I have another car here waiting to get back to...

I would not go by what the IAT reads. most of the time, these big IAT drops are happening because the mist/droplets are touching the IAT sensor. Thus skewing the reading.
The Track or (gulp) dyno will tell you how much benefit you are getting from the meth.

i also measured the temp in the runner not in the pipes. all the meth had flashed off way before the sensor.

keep this going? anyone else running hot air.
forgot to add,
intercooler 90* ait vs no intercooler 175*ait = ET at the track, within 0.1th of a second. my 17psi no intercooler times were just as quick as my 20psi intercooled time. my mph was lower without the intercooler, but my boost was lower, my ET was faster because boost came in quicker. im sure that if i upped the boost it would of picked up the mph.

I received similar results this last season running E85. IATs went to almost 200, but not much of a change in ET (1/4 mile run). I reduced the computers correction for IAT temps and picked up the lost ET. I also improved my 60’… most likely due to the same reason you noted. For next year I am not going to put an intercooler back on.
