So over the winter I swapped from a stock geared th400 to a 1.80 straight cut powerglide in a reid case, the car feels good and drives good and even seems to be running good numbers so far but the datalog looks strange and almost look like a 3 speed, the car does not seem like it wants to 60 foot very good either. Although I did not hit it with a whole lot of power yet either.
The car went 1.34 60fts with the th400 and ran 8.62@159
The combo:
1979 zephyr street car (3300ish lbs)
8.8 with 3.31 gear
275 drag radial
Trans specialties 3000 powerglide
column shift
PTC 9.5 custom converter
John deere Hyguard fluid
370 cid LSX
Twin 76mm turbos
2step set at 4400, launched on only 3psi
1.44 60 ft
3.72 330ft
5.64 1/8th et
127.75 1/8th mph
7.30 1000'
8.72 1/4 et
159.01 1/4 mph
If you look at the picture here the car comes off the trans brake and climbs up to 6295 rpm and then pulls down to 5925 rpm before starting to climb again in 1st gear. The logs look the same on all of the passes I made and 60 fts were about the same on most as well.
I am wondering if this is an issue in the converter or with the band adjustment on the side of the trans? or possibly something else?
Just curious what the gurus think.

You can hear it clear as day in this videos as well.

Looks like you have a little bit of KR on your 1 - 2 shift. 1000 shift extension so I'm assuming it's not to loose on the converter. Not sure how the band could be the issue, I thought that was used for gear engagement when you shift.

I will try hitting it harder, the car was 60 footing really soft but it would spin a little ways out so I will slow the controller down a bit but increase launch boost.
