That's been done. Theres a member there with a complete TT system in his bed along with A2A IC. Looks like it's on display as everything's routed as if it were in his engine bay and it takes up the whole bed. Doesn't make sense but who knows, maybe it works ok...

There are guys ahead of you that invented the "electric supercharger". lol Go to ebay and check em out. I wonder what a dozen of those would do under the hood.

Turbos in the rear seat's will work. One of my friends has a mustang cobra with twins this way.The car is mean as hell. I had thought about it for the Transam. The ideal is very smart.It keeps the engine bay cool and u could cut a section out and fab a appropriate size box for the turbo.That's if u have fabrication know how !

It is definitely possible to put turbos in the back seat area safely. I'd just spend alot of time making a metal compartment to conceal all the heat/exhaust fumes. Maybe use inconel shield but I'm sure the heat would still bleed through some and make the interior warm. I've seen the notch stang with twins in the trunk way kool

All joking aside this is not a bad idea if done properly. The OP's original idea of having it unshielded inside the cab is definitely the worst idea. I had previously designed a build with a thumper turbo in the behind seat area of a C6 vette.
You would build a sheetmetal box inside the car to create a large hollow cavity under the car. You would then put a heat blanket on the turbo followed by an alum heat shield between the turbo and the steel box. The steel would also have layered heat shielding material both in and outside followed by jute padding and carpet. You could run LT headers directly to the big turbo then run the A2W and piping back through the interior of the car in any fashion to a backwards intake/TB.
This would create a cool engine bay and much better overall weight distribution for a road race or land speed car.

My original thought was not really to cool the turbo itself but for the turbo to take in cooler air but idk if it would make a difference or would mounting the intercooler inside be better.
