Default 408 CID Twin turbo build

Car is a 2000 SS 6 speed. Mods are a 30 spline (viper) T-56, Moser 35 spline 9" rear narrowed 3" per side, 408 CI forged iron block, Pat G cam. Tripple 255s in -tank, 80lb injectors, LS-6 intake. The turbo kit was made by 417 Motorsports in Springfield, MO and are twin 61mm T3 flanged turbos, (kit was originally owned by fitz98ta)...A bit small for this motor, but the spool should be WICKED. Going for 14-15 PSI on E-85 and around 800rwhp or whenever I run out of fuel system. I'll keep you posted and add videos when we get it running. Heres a vid running 14.2 psi with the fuel pumps dropping out. Did 0-115 in just over 8 seconds on the street taking it easy in 1st gear! http://youtu.be/lipMltJpJ-U

I would think your gonna need more Fuel pump and injector for E-85. I also dont think your gonna need 14-15 psi to make 800 though an m6 and a 408.

Looks good though

I'll see about the pumps. Another local guy ended up running out of pump and injectors at 791rwhp on E-85 but through a stalled turbo 400.

I have seen 417 Motorsports' work in person. Specifically the orange TT hardtop Formula they did. Very nice build. Thing made a little over 1000 wheel on the high boost setting.

Good luck with your build!

thats crazy your able to fit the IC flat like that inside the front clip and everything fits ok. What size is it and did you have to modify front bumper at all to get it in there?

It looks hard to change spark plugs. Otherwise it looks good.

I don't recall the size, we did have to trim the bumper a bit though. I'll get the size when I get home.

Yeah to change the plugs you either have to remove the downpipes, etc and do it all from the bottom or remove the manifolds/turbos. Its going to SUCK either way....I say a LONG day project or a weekend thing to do the plugs.

I just saw this post man.

Glad the car is turning out good. Someone needed to keep that kit alive!!!

Plugs aren't near as bad as they used to be to change. When a couple added v bands were welded in, it made a world of difference. also with the k member it will help too.

I can't wait to see how much power this kit will make. I only got it up to 14 psi w/ 12 degree timing and it made 755 rwhp on a non-brake dyno.

IIRC the intercooler core was 25"x6"x4" thick. It was a vertical core though

I finally installed tripple in-tank pumps and that solved the fuel pressure issue. Next thing I did was turn the boost up to 18.1 and got in 2 small street pulls with the 2nd pull ending right when I hit 3rd gear. The T-56 made a loud pop/gear breaking noise and then I'll I had was 4th gear. Got home to find the input and counter-shaft gear teeth were all sheared off. The splines on the input shaft were also starting to twist where the clutch disks were located.
