Default what turbo to go with ?

alright fellas I am joining the darkside and need some help. I have an Lq4 bottom end with P&P ls3 heads and I was wandering what size turbo to go with? this is going in a mustang with an 80e behind it. its not going to be driven everyday and im going to stick with the stock bottom end right now. also after I get the turbo I will be gettin a custom cam for it also. So what do yall think ???? also its going to be a weekend warrior and see alot of track time !

Nothing wrong with a Turbonetics I bet a 76 or 78mm would push that stock short block to its limits. You just want more power!

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it, I just spent 1g on it now I need to spend 1500 on a Precesion due to being cheap the first time will cost me 3-400 if not more in the end.

No one can tell you the answer to that because you have not provided enough information.

The most important ? is how much power do you want to make??????

S475 is probably the most turbo for the $$$, but they're huge. They can be had new for about $600 if you look around.

I'd try to find a good name used turbo in the 75 and up range. Turbonetics 76mm (non TC), Precision 7675, Precision PT80/PT88, etc.

PT88.

We've all seen this before. You'll have a forged motor next year and will be looking for more power

T70 is perfect for stock bottom end, 76 will carry you a bit further too.

What year Lq4 is this? A TC76 will make enough power to pop a 03 down lq, or Ls engine but the 04 up with the LS2 rods will take quite a bit if things are right. A S475 is prob the most power for the $ but it's a beast! The Tc76, or Master equivalent is plenty for most factory bottom ends...

Buy a turbo that will last though. Buy it once and buy the proper turbo. You will most likely forge the bottom end later and want more. This will cause you to buy a new turbo, wastegate and more then likely redo your downpipe.
