Default custom "APS" style turbo kit

I'm getting parts together for a local shop to put together a custom twin setup. The setup will be modeled after the APS fbody kit. I'm thinking twin gt-35rs. I have no idea if they will physically fit. Any suggestions would be welcome. The engine in the car now is a stock LS1 but I have a 408 LSX in the works. I'd like people's opinion on header primary diameter (1 3/4?), turbo sizing, and how far I can go without a cage. The eventual goal is 1000 RWHP.

AC and PS are a must. That's one reason I like the APS layout.

and you want to put the turbos where the APS turbos are? IMO, you'd be better off mounting them elsewhere, something like a tubular VA speed header or the like. down and in front of the motor. IMO mounting between the frame and engine is only going to limit you.

I feel like if I do front mounts or a big single in the front I might have trouble keeping under hood temps down. I'd also like to keep as much weight behind the front wheels as possible.

are you trying to road race or something? with 1kwhp goal, i assume not. honestly, i wouldnt worry about specific placement of the turbo in relation to under hood temps too much. you're turbocharging the car, things are going to get hot under the hood. you need to pay more attention to AIT's and protecting things like radiator hoses, AC hoses, PS etc from heat than anything.

That's actually a really nice kit. And yes I do want to road race. Maybe not with the boost cranked ALL the way up but I do.

If you are worried about underhood temps, then I'd probably wrap the headers and downpipes. Ceramic coating is also a option. This is just an idea, but what about making airducts under the car and point them at the turbos?
