Default procharger and MS4 cam??

I am in the market for a procharger kit (D1) for my 99 camaro M6. It has full boltons and a ms4 cam. I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible and really don't feel like changing the cam out. How bad would it be to run my ms4 cam with a D1 kit?

I would think you would bleed off alot of boost, it will work but there are alot of better cams for boosted applications and with boost bigger is not always better

It will work. It will not be optimal though, by far and being on a 111 is really not going to help at all.

i remember somewhere (here i think) seeing a gto boosting on a t-rex cam (if i remember correctly), and still pushing over 500hp; although clearly as stated, a properly spec'd cam would put those numbers higher.

I've seen a lot of non blower cams work surprisingly well with ProChargers. You're going to bleed off some boost with the overlap but that can be overcome with a smaller blower pulley.

Check out my complete ProCharger D-1SC kit at this link.

Like mentioned above, you can make it work but it's not the best out there by any means. You might be able to sell it and then get into a better cam pretty cheap. We'd be happy to do a custom grind cam for your application if you like. Let us know if we can help!

Run it you will be fine!!! I'm running the T-Rex with a D-1 @ 8pds. Yea I know not the best either but with the RWHP I made and ETs I'm running I'm happy!! Why did I not change simple going forged down the road save money on a cam swap.

That's good to know cuz i'm wanting to do the same thing, knowing of course it's not the MOST ideal setup.

Btw, what is your rwhp and ets?

Thats for the responses! Exactly what i wanted to know. I knew it wouldn't be optimum but I am just trying to keep cost as low as possible. I will eventually build a motor and then will get a custom cam for the car.
