procharger open race valve
procharger open race valve just have a couple questions on the race valve. is there a way to quiet it down while crusing around, or am i stuck with the noise. driving around with a 3k stall and the valve open doesnt do me any good if a cop gets next to me.
on another note does anyone have any input on what i can put on my intercooler piping to keep the eng heat off, drove the car last night and after a 20 min drive the upper pipe in the eng bay way really hot. what will be the best thing to cover the pipe with.

I have never heard of quieting down a race valve, maybe someone else might chime in with something but I doubt it. You could sell that open one on here and use that money towards the closed. Those things go like hotcakes.
yeah...i have no idea what the sound is and i too am interested in hearing it..a P1SC with a bypass is what i have...so is a race valve the same as a blow off?..i would love to see you make a vid with you driving it down the raod..i want to hear what it is that you think might **** the cops off if driving beside them lol

Can say is before I went FMIC and I had the twins with the aluminum Pleium I had the valve coming off the Pleium and being it was right behind where the stock airbox sat it was crazy loud. Now it's Mounted inside the bumper cover in front of the driver side wheel and it's alot more quiet

You have a by pass valve. What he has is basically a bov. I'm assuming he has the open version in which case the big red race valve would stay open venting the compressed air to atmosphere until the engine goes from vacuum to boost. I love the sound of the BRR valve, though again I'm assuming he lives in Cali which his mods may be illegal, hence why he would want to stay on the quiter side.

ill try to get a video of it sometime this week. thats the same spot i have my valve at right behind the bumper on the driver side. maybe if i put the plastic corner piece on will it be quieter.

edit, not sure what pulleys you had but mine made boost around 2600rpm, with 4.30 gears, it was spun up a LOT. got nick named the street sweeper haha

ouch yeah man i just watched that vid and now i see what your are talking about...i can see how that may be a lil annoying...i was thinking it sounded more like a quike BOV noise..but that is more of a constant woosh noise...i think i'll stick with the regular bypass that my procharger unit kit came with
