Turbo craped out, so what size should I get now?

Default Turbo craped out, so what size should I get now?

I recently got an 01 trans am, all stock. Since then I added a 3400 convertor, and an sts rear mount. The turbo was a stock 60mm but has since taken a crap, so I'm looking to upgrade turbos. I was looking at a t70, but I'm bout to order a new cam and ported heads and would like to make around 700hp and I'm building a 6.0 block. But I want something that is still streetable. Should I do the t70 or go bugger like 76-78 or like a pt88? The car is a rear mount set up with an auto

It all depends on a goal. Hp, E.T., roll racer....etc. Then RPM range and your main use for the car.

You said 700hp. With a stock bottom end, and ported heads a T70 will not make 700. Maybe 550-600. The stock bottom end will be your limiting factor at around 550-650. Then again some cars run for 50k at 650 while some grenade at 500 after 1k miles. It's all in the tune, as mine has been boosted for over 25-30k at 640rwhp on the stock bottom end.

I'd look at a PTE74GTS I think being a rear mount set-up it will give you better spool than a 76 or 78 and especially a 88. Your gonna want to build the tranny, change to a beefier rear end and decide on a more precise plan.

700hp crank or rwhp??? Big difference
