It's a T4 turbo. I probably need a T6, but really don't have the room for it.

The converter is a 3000rpm and I bought it on eBay. I don't expect the 4L60e to last, so it was just a cheapy converter to get me going. I'm converting from manual to auto, so I didn't have a converter prior to this

And nope, I'm really lazy, meth kit is still in the box...

Why change to a 4L60E if you don't think it will last long?

I traded my T56 for this 4L60e + cash. So far, I've made a profit on the conversion and it might take me months before I can afford to do a 4L80e. Putting this box in and seeing how long it lasts will have to do me for the moment.

Added some black fuel rails and AN-8 nylon braided line. Also got rid of the nasty quick-connect fittings on the hardline and used some compression fittings instead.

So, I've been doing some playing with the water/vapour ports in the head. Late model engines had these rear ports blocked off, which for NA engines isn't a problem, but apparently can cause a lot of excessive heat on the rear of the heads when playing with boost. This is something that I want to avoid, and I've heard of a lot of people who play with boost opening them up and venting them to the radiator. The problem is, the early engine has a different manifold with clearance underneath to run the lines. I don't have this clearance, so I needed to get a bit creative.

I would love to hear some opinions from anyone who has researched this before, or feels that my idea will or won't work. Don't be scared, I can handle a bit of criticism.

I've done something very similar, but tapped the heads and screwed the tails straight in, have used -4 braided line instead of hard line, same "Tee" piece up front.

And the finished product. I'm pretty pleased with it, just need to wait for the last t-peice to arrive for the front.
