Not all s/c are the same. I for example have 629RWHP and 583RWTQ at 10PSI. Thanks to the 2.5" pulley, the boost comes on way sooner in the power band. Around 2k, and pulls hard to a little over 6k. Most people are too scared of breaking something to over spin the blowers. I would rather overspin a smaller blower to bring the power on earlier then to spin a big blower slower.

The s/c is plenty streetable. It doesn't make boost unless you are on it. Just like a turbo. I can gradually accelerate and never see any boost.

30thta436m any times on your setup? What would be the closest to the vortech, a P1 or D1? I just dont like the whole thing being up top, no offense. Looks nice on someone elses car, but i like the "looks like an engine" thing.
Thanks,
Charlie.

I would say P1. Because Hugger orange SS has the p1 and is over spinning it like I am. He makes a little over 600RWHP at 11PSI. I think the D1 has more potential, but people are afraid to spin them.

I don't have track time yet. I will by the middle of march.

I feel diffenent about the s/c being on top. It is an eye catcher. Plus when polished it can look really nice.

I will have to disagree with u on this point. A SC can make boost earlier in the RPM not because u are over spinning a small blower, but because it has a higher internal step up ratio. So for example, if a head unit has 3.90 ratio and another head unit has a 4.44 ratio with in and they both flow the same the head unit with the steeper ratio will make early boost than the other one, even if they have the same max impeller speed. In the SC world.... The more CFM the head unit makes the more HP u will notice especially if u were over spinning the small blower and u upgraded to a larger one with a steeper internal ratio.

The supercharged setup will always have higher parasitic loss since the crank is always driving the blower. A loss of 100-200 hp for a race application blower setup is not unusual. Can get even higher. I'm not really knowledgeable about turbo setups so while I have heard they are less consistent off the line I think that's basically an issue with consistently building boost at the starting line. But if you run a two-step it seems that it would help build consistency.

I hate when you really feel like getting something, and then as you second guess it, you start to want something else.

Why wont Magnacharger make a Fbody setup!
