Default lets take a vote on turbo selection.

so ive narrowed it down to three turbos

All from garrett.

gt3788r $ 1569

gt4088r $1670

gt4094r $1750

all these have great compatible compressor maps for my setup

5.3 lm7
600 crank hp desired
11 psi boost
6000 rpm max power

this is a daily driver vehicle with a 3 speed auto trans.

what does everyone think? im partial to the gt4094 because im far from the choke and surge lines with room to grow in displacement and boost. what a/r should i get? this will be daily driven not raced and is going into a 4000lb old school poncho. thanks everyone. i know these are expensive turbos but you get what you pay for, thats how i feel.

I run a GT4088R. Fast spool. Makes decent power. No dyno numbers though.

highest ive run is 10 psi.

i like the 4088, the compressor map gives me breathing room and its a good price for a bb turbo.

You could achieve 600whp with a Magnum or Master Power 76mm for half the price.

I with you!! I don't have that combined on turbos for both of my cars. Hey but it's a matter of preference.

Where did you hear bad things about Master Power? I havent heard much of anything, Ive even owned one without any problems. Magnum is similar to Master Power, heard nothing but good things about them.

Theres always a Precision 76GTS.

i hear bad things from my tuner, and since hes the one thats been tuning my cars for 2 years and ive never had bad results from him i tend to trust his word. turbonetics is my second choice brand. the t70 to be exact. im military and have no debt so ive got money to spend on expensive parts. ;-]

The turbonetics are great units, make great power and have a killer warranty. Hard to argue with them. Let us know, as we can help.

A turbonetics TC 76 or 78 would work well with your setup, and at around $900 will free up some $$ for quality wastegate and BOV.

id like a bb turbo, and turbonetics isnt out of the question. since its a HEAVY street car lol. 65 pontiac big car, id like a faster spooling turbo with plenty of "low end torque", top end hp is not my concern because honestly the thing is a boat and doesnt have great suspension. :}. Drturbo, would you agree then that a turbonetics tc70 would get the job done?

^ This.

And why are you dead set on a ball bearing turbo? Journal bearings are just fine. Most OEM factory turbo cars are journal bearing, and are covered by a factory manufacturer warranty.
