Copper Head Gasket O-rings
- Single Oring in Block and no reciever groove in Head.

What other options are there ? Double O Rings ?
Thanks
I personally run O-ringed iron block with no receiver grooves in alloy head making 100whp per cylinder with no blow outs. I also have 5 studs per cylinder also though, as apposed to the typical 4 on the LSX engines.
I have been told that once you compress a copper gasket onto an O-ringed block/head, you cannot use that gasket again. I have also heard of people doing it with no ill results though, so... whatever.

The reason I mentioned 5 studs per cylinder vs. 4 should be obvious. More studs = less chance of lifting a head.
EDIT: Just started looking into this more. How many people are driving around with an O ringed block, grooved head, and copper head gasket? Is it sealing everything that it should; oil, combustion, coolant?
Phil, I remember reading a post you made a while ago about using a tool versus a CNC machine to cut the grooves. I was just looking at the BHJ tool and found quite a few instances of it being used. In your experience were you having issues caused by the tool or was the CNC simply more precise?
