Default Spool and power difference w/twins pt6765 vs tc76

What would be the difference in power and spool up between these two turbo's in a 408" twin setup? I currently have twin 6765's but one of my new precision 6765's is hurt (dragging bad). I will send it back to precision to fix but i try to never miss a good opportunity to upgrade!! Thanks for any info! tracy

A TC76 is too small for a 408 IMO. The twin 6765's could be nice depending on the A/R. Have you thought about a PT88 or something similar?

How did the precisions spool? How big was the exhaust side of them? My twin tc 76's .96 a/r spooled by 3500 with an 8.7:1 402 and gave me plenty more than I needed. The tc76s are rated to 1000hp a piece.

To be honest I would keep the turbos you have and fix the bad one. Though the tc76s may have more power capability, probably way more than you would use.

How quick is your car and at what boost level? Bad *** car by the way!
I have two exh housings, .68 and another set of 1.0 divided. The 1.0's on my 370" would build two pounds of boost on my trans brake within a second or so at 3400rpms. I have not had the 1.0's on the 408 yet but the .68's spool like crazy. I have a 3400 rpm converter so boost comes in really quick.

the billets are supposed to be around 800hp a piece. Two should be able to put down 1200 - 1300 rwhp.

My car went 9.13 @ 151 on 15psi with a 1.36 60'. Was hoping for 8's this year. Now the motor is done and I'm selling the twins in favor of a healthy single.

Thank you. Now the car is collecting dust in my garage until I can afford a new motor.

I would go with billet PT76s over TC76s. But, ultimately I think it just comes down to what your goals are hp wise.

the 7675s are good for 2000hp, thats beyond excessive

You look into the TC70 otherwise, but the 6765 is about the best setup for twins there is IMHO

I think what you have now will carry you well into the low 9's high 8's if you really pushed it.

Is there a reason you want to go bigger? More HP? Higher RPM range?

If not really you have a good set-up now, I know it gets boring after a while having the same set-up, but I can tell you not having your car for months is even more boring. Ask me how I know.....

precision finally built a new site....very nice! I really like the precision turbo's so i'm leaning in that direction for an upgrade (billet 72mm or so) or may just keep what i have.... This whole car is excessive for a daily driver so it is a sickness for sure. My goal is 8.9's in street trim but when i reach it i will then want more...i'm sure most of us have that sickness, lol!

More is never enough. If you have a buyer and you have the cajones, upgrade em.
