Need turbo ideas
Since I'm 99% sure my twin tc 76's are sold. I'm looking to build around the x 275 class. Thinking about somewhere in the neighborhood of 370-388ci with around 10:1 compression.
I'm looking at a GT47-88 rated at 1600hp or would that choke at higher rpms with those cubes? Also was looking at a GT50-88 and GT55-88. I know the 55 would be best but the 47 is a little cheaper.
Just trying to get things together again.

What are competitive times for the x 275 class?

I'm not looking to build a solid roller at this time, but that may change. For now probably no higher than 7500?
To qualify which is all I want to be able to do. I should be in the 5.5x maybe 5.4x range. The top guys are running in the 5.1x's or even 4.9x's. I'm not building it to be competitive, but just to be able to enter a few races to get the feel. The twins would have been good for ODR, but then I have to race with people like Fireball and them retardedly fast guys!!!!

Also, id like to add a question to this topic that is relevant as well if you dont mind. If you dont like this question, ill be happy to remove it, but i think it should help
On the topic of the turbocharger, Is it worth more to the racer/car to take a weight penalty for a diffferent frame turbo. IE, large frame is a 100lb weight penatly etc. Atleast thats how our local class works.
so if one wanted to use say a ProMod 88 then they would have to take a weight penalty.
FastBird, Not trying to Hijack, if this is inappropriate ill be happy to delete this question.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering about these turbos. Just good I don't have to make a decision anytime soon

My car has had it's ups and downs. Getting ready to finally make my license passes in a few weeks. I really think my car is cursed, and you don't need any more of my bad luck rubbing off on you. I'll shoot you a pm with the dirty details.

I have my motor build pretty much nailed down per Shawn at Va Speed. Gonna be a sleeved LS2 and kept at stock cubes (364"). I told him that would be the turbo I'm gonna use and that's what his idea was. I'll take his word for it.

isnt the x275 a large frame turbo?
Ifso, this goes back to a former question i had posted, is it worth it to up the frame size or overall size with a reducer and take a weight penalty?

I hear the precision x275 turbo is kicking *** and taking names right now. other wise gt55 or s500/88 are good choices all should run the times, its just precision is the best and most expensive one. I would not even consider the 47 the turbine side will be done way before the compressor on an engine that size.
