I ran the TC76 for 3 years and now the 7875. The TC was a good unit, I really don't have any complaints about it. It served me very well. The Precision however spools almost as fast and carries a lot more up top, especially once you get over ~15 psi.

The TC is a good deal smaller though. I had to do a little work to get the 7875 in it's place.
This new TC7876 should help solve the issue of space constraints and still have the top end you guys are looking for.

What do you think the new tc unit will be rated for as far as hp?

another random queestion (without starting a new thread)...

Will a JGS 40mm WG be able to keep a PT76GTS in check? My friend ran a 38mm tial and a 76gts on his old hi-flow kit and it was fine.

EDIT: also, what is the power potential limit on a set of 317 heads?

thanks

76GTS should have a 50MM wastegate or so.

317's are anywhere from 500-1000 RWHP.

If you can swing it id go with a 44mm for room to grow, and most people just put dual valve springs on the 317's and go. From what I've read people have pushed stock 317's to the limit to where they lift due to the thinner deck on the head's. Id say 800rwhp would be pushing a 317.

Wastegate priority is going to have a large factor in what size will work for you. That said I would still get the biggest/best budget will allow.

PT76GTS FTW!

Really though this turbo hits really hard and pulls like a sombitch up top.

There is a guy on here with a 365 LS2 and a PTE76GTS on the corn making 830rwhp and 880rwtq on a 224/224 114 cam and 317 heads IIRC.

The price of a Tial 44 really isnt going to kill me in the grand scheme of things lol.. The issue i have is the kit is built with the smaller WG so i would probably have to modify the pipe going to the WG as it is tucked pretty close and from what i remember the tial 44 is pretty bulky.

The new Tial MVS/R gates are much smaller then the ones they replaced. You would be looking at the MV-R which replaced the 44.

Do you have a pic of how the wg is integrated into the kit. That will tell a lot.

I believe the MVS is the same width as an old 44 but quite a bit shorter. I will snap a pic when i get home from work but i think it will have to be modified (i would have to cut the flange off for the v band anyway so i guess its not a huge pain)

I can modify/weld it for ya if you need. You can bring it over and size it up to one of my MVS gates if you want. Dan Lesser has a few MVRs that I am sure we could use for test fit/ideas as well.

Cool drew, thanks!

I made a deal witha guy last night for brand new PT76GTS, sending the money out friday. Billy turbo got by with the same turbo and a 38mm wg, but the general consensus on here is a tial44 or larger equiv.

I had the TC76 on my turbosmart 38mm wastegate with a 7lb spring. It would control to 7lbs unless it was cold in 4th gear it would hit 10lbs. I swapped a PT76GTS in place and with my cutout open it hits 15-16lbs of boost in 3rd gear. You will not want a 38mm gate with the precision unit, it will not control it on a 346.

I've never received neither blankets nor even these tracking numbers, can you provide any proof of your words? You PROMISED multiple times to send and every time there was some excuse and then you just stopped responding to my messages. Apparently you didn't send anything or you wouldn't have reason not to answer my messages.
