Default 370 CI Twin Turbos with AFR 245's Build Thread

Quick rundown on the car.

2006 GTO 6SP
Forged LQ9 Ironblock
AFR 245 V2 Heads
Morel Lifters
Stock Rocker with trunnion upgrade
Ed Curtis Cam specs still unknown
80lb RCI Injectors
Devils own Meth Injection
APS Twin Turbo Kit
Ported Edelbrock Victor Jr Intake
Return style fuel system driven by Aeromotive A1000
1000 HP 2piece driveshaft, stubs, axles and tru trac
Monster 5 clutch may be testing a new Twin Carbon unit

Engine is at the builders it was tore down inspected and everything looked good. Right now we are waiting for the cam from Ed Curtis. Called yesterday and it is being cut I expect it by the end of the week then we can start putting her together. I expect the car will be back on the road within 30 days. Machine shop will more than likely be the sticking point but the owner has told me not to worry. I will post up pics as we go obviously the drivetrain and turbos have already been installed all I have left to do is get the engine and tune her.

Car with ported 243 and a Flowtech rearmount cam put down 700whp and was a very reliable street car till I turned up the boost. Not sure what the numbers were I did my tuning on the street but turbos would max at 21lbs and hold 18 steady.

No I still have the standard ones. I'm limited in HP but frankly I need to make better use of the power I have. Since I've been down I got the new rear end under the car so my peglegging days should be over. Not sure how she'll do in the 1/4 with the new 3:07 gears but they should shine in the standing mile event I'm trying to make it attend.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe he is trying to steer away from going with a low impedance driver for bigger injectors.

Running the 60lb injectors I was at 100% duty cycle HP tuners told me it was more like 105 but we all know 100 is all we're going to get. I was using Meth to make up the difference to get my AF Ratio right. According to RC 75lb injectors would keep me below 80% duty cycle. The injectors I have were originally listed as 80lbers not sure why now they are listed as 70lbs. I will keep an eye on things while we put her thru the paces. Anything over 80% duty cycle I'll have to get the bigger injectors.

Sounds like a good build. I think you'll be okay with 80# injectors!

Just a quick thread update. Cam finally cam in but while putting the pistons in it was determined they were to loose in the bore. New set shoud be here mon/tuesday then we can get on it. Will end up being 376ci vs 370. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to put up some pictures. Not alot out there for the 245's I'm hoping to add something.

Rick
