Hopefully get the motor back together in 2-3 weeks, then final assembly begins. Too many setbacks last year, car is way behind schedule unfortunately. Trying to get it together for the Ocean City thing in may, but that's pushing it.

What did you do for the dp? Did you just weld a v band instead of using the 6 bolt flange?

tell me about it. car was almost done back last summer. just lack of spare cash for parts, and the need to rebuild the motor set me back a bit. also the decision to turn it into basically a full blown race car killed my budget plans...... but ain't that the norm lol.

should hopefully have it all done soon, have some free time and tax returns coming so I should be able to get it out and about soon
not much left:
door bars, seat brackets, put dash back in and wire gauges put motor back in and trans..... and that's it
all the wiring is done, engine bay is painted and smoothed, fuel system is in and wired up, just a matter of time.

after taking a ride in my budies twin turbo c5Z (only on 7psi and 1/2 throttle mind you) I'm dying to get this thing done.
now just trying to decide whether to run a powerglide or th400. (car is complettly gutted mind you and going as light as possible).

Buddy of mine is possibly swapping a T88 5.3 into his 89 RX7 so I did some searching and this thread came up and I'm curious about the build.

been swamped working on a few other peoples cars but finally got a few hours this week to work on mine again. been a few months. But at least car is on pace to be out in the spring.

well transmission is in, torque arm is in and intake manifold is finally fitted. Pulling the wiring harness back out to trim a few things out that I will not be using, but car is just about finished, can't wait until the spring. pics of today's work

as you can see I keep constantly changing my mind lol. Also car now has an fti level IV th400 w/a 4700rpm 9" fti converter. now I need to pick out a new shifter and get a trans cooler. T56 is now sitting in the garage lol.

Nice build, use the 5.3 heads , 317s will be a dog, with higher cr you will spool faster

Build looks great man. How do you think that cam will do on a "bigger" sized turbo?

not too sure about the cam, still debating on whether to swap it out over the winter for something a bit more aggressive.
GOing to give the 317 heads a shot with some big boost (26psi at least) and see how they work, if I don't like I still have the 5.3 heads sitting in my garage easy enough to swap over if I have to.
as for the dp, I'm, probably just going to 90deg it up through the hood for now, or maybe out the fender. I"m hung up on that right now since I"m debating on wheter to make the car look as stock as possible, or just making it down right mean. so many decisions lol.
