Default What heads and headunit question

Been kicking around the idea of maybe rebuilding my blown 347 and going with a procharger.

Here is what i have

TFS 215's, VRD ported fast 102/102, 1-7/8 headers, tru duals, and a un-wired 255 in the tank.

Bob said i could drop the FAST fuel pump that comes in his kit in-line to my intank pump and be good for 700rwhp. With the 60 lb'r of course.

I would be running his blower cam if i did this.

My question is this... should i rebuild the 347 and go with a d1
OR
go iron 370 with f1a

I know my fuel system is going to limit both set-ups to around the same power level.

But my biggest worry would be the size of my cylinder heads on the 370.

im a fan of using what you got... its usually cheaper... why not just build the 347 and put the f1 on it?

You'll be fine with the 347.. personally I like the weight savings with aluminum over iron too so when I am ready to build a motor it will be an LS2/3 block depending. I'm pretty sure I've seen a 347 w/ F1A and it was pretty sick.

But if i did put the f1 on the 347 would the 215's be holding it back alot?

No I don't think so.. what is your idea of being held back a lot? I am sure you could trade those out though if you really wanted to. Or get them ported is another idea.

KP got into the 8.80 range with his 347 and an F-1A with our blower camshaft. This was with AFR 225 heads. Bob

I can have them ported by AI since they are local if i needed to. Perhapse on the next go around, when i step up the fuel system i could upgrade the heads as well.

Bob is there going to be any differences in power delivery or drivablity with 6-speed 347 with a d1 vs a f1?

No, not really. The F-1A is going to be quite a bit louder, but it generally is music to most peoples ears. Bob

Reguardless of the motor you run, you should get an F-1.

I plan to run some Trickflow 220cc as cast heads that I will be getting them to CNC for me. I run their 243s now and love them! Great guys! F1A ftw.
