Default turbo advice please

Well I just bought a 97 c5 vette. It has a 408 forged iron block with ls3 heads and intake. With epp blower cam. hinson single t76 turbo. And a water to air intercooler. And 60# injectors. In doing research I find that this Turbo is to small for the 408. This is my first Turbo car. And like to make750+ rwhp. I plan on swapping out intercooler to a air to air. What Turbo would I need to feed it. A t88 is what I'm think. Any advise is welcome. Thanks

What brand of turbo is more important than the size.

I would think atleast a 80mm would be in need though.

i would also upgrade down pipe to 4"

What brand turbo? That 76mm will still be the choke point of the setup though.

3inch dp has to stay. No room for bigger. Probably do a cut out once the pipe gets down under the car.

3 in will hold that 408 back big time. Make the 4 in work, notch or oval if you have too...use 3.5 in at least...
