ive always thought you needed to run a little richer when running meth, because of the stoich ratio is richer than that of gasoline? im just curious, not to hijack, just curious since im running 10.5 on 50/50 meth.

Target 11.5 AFR which is very safe. Running too rich can lift your ring lands and at that power level is more dangerous to the motor than running too lean.

I think that a #8 plug is fine in that setup. I've been from 10.3's NA on my old stroker to 8.9 on boost. I really should step up to a #9 plug for high boost though. I think that your expectations of 106 at anywhere near 4K pounds with only 10 psi is a bit ambitious. Granted that with a soft 60' like 1.57 you will MPH higher than you would with a 1.3-1.4. Bottom line, you aren't too far off the mark for what you have. Just lean her out a little.

I hope to get it out tomorrow and do some third gear pulls to lean it out some.

I am more just trying to see if my MPH is on par for my setup. I know it is hot out and I am losing some to that but I just would like to see a 6.60-6.70 in the 1/8th at this boost level. I would like to see this TC78 bring me into the 9's when I turn up the boost.

I am also still working on staging the car and getting up on boost and then bringing on the transbrake and 2-step.

Next time I head to the 1/4 mile track I will leave early and try to hit the scale.

Thanks for the help guys.

No, if you have your WB setup in a gasoline scale you use the same gasoline target AFR no matter which fuel or fuel mix you are running

Well I tried to hit a local scale and it is a military scale so you had to set up a appt.

I have the third member out and am swapping in the 3.5 gear vs the 3.0 in there now.

I have also leaned it out some and turned up the boost to 15#s, it feels like a different car now.

Also trying to see what if any different rear brake pads would help with trying to stage the car on the brakes while I have everything apart?

next time you go to Coastal you can stop by New River and there is a weight scale open 24/7 right near the back gate.. just drive on, go in check your weight on the screen, and drive away.. thats it

Forgot they put that there. Thanks Jesse. It's been like 4 years since I've been on New River.

Well I got the 3.5 gear vs the 3.0 gear with a 28" tire and what a difference. I am now seeing 18#s of boost at WOT were I was only seeing 15.7-16.2#s before. Car feels like a animal now that the converter is running in its effeciency range. I hope to hit the track on Thursday and Friday night for some times.

It should run like a champ now, almost double the boost, better tune and better gear. Looking forward to seeing the results.

im curious to see how this goes as well. im running a very similar combo, just a little lighter vehicle weight...

i am at 11.2 afr and i agree the difference between 10 and 15psi feels like a whole different car

did you mention whether you had a .96 or 1.15 housing? and what size downpipe?

.96 housing and a 3" downpipe.

I am excited to see what it does. I am also planning on trying to stage the car a little different and have adjusted the shocks so hopefully I can get a low 1.5 to a low 1.4 and a low 6.xx 1/8th.

What suspension mods do you have and what tire are you running in the rear at the track? Try and leave on at least 8-9 psi, if not more like 10-11. I leave on 8-9 consistently now at 4100rpm and cut .19-.31 r/t's consistently. I could get 11 and pull more if I wanted, but I have been racing other people lately and it's been making a huge difference in the amount of races I've been winning. Once you learn to stage your car you will feel 100% comfortable in it and a lot of it down track will slow down, i know it did with me.

Yeah I am going to try and I just found my right rear LCA poly bushings shot causing my rear to move about 3/4" under acceleration and turning. So I know have MWC rear lower double rod end adjustable LCA's and a rod end adj. PHB to replace the poly bushing crap on the car.

I got a 1.57 60' with that worn suspension and leaving on 6PSI so on 8-9 and some good suspension it should leave a whole lot better. But until it gets here next week I am out of driving the car till then.

For a weight comparison, I'm at 3950 with me (190), 6 pt. CM bar, BMR K member & arms, Bogarts, ET streets, 5 gal. water tank and 4L80e. At 18# boost I suspect you might run right past the 106 estimate, good luck.

There is a HUGE gain with the TC78 from 10 to 12 psi. I think with 12psi and 11.2~11.5 AFR you will be at your goal. With a T78/6.0L, and 317's going from 10 to 12psi is 3~4 mph on my truck at 4875lbs; same 11.5:1 AFR. I also ran a TC76 with exact same results.
