I LOVE rowing through the gears, I went out of my way to find a pristine T56 equipped 2002 Camaro - then I decided I was going to turbo my car 4 months after buying it. Then I looked at the "fastest T56 equipped" list, and thought "why spend all that money and do all that work, put down all that power, and still struggle to get out of the 11's". Combined with the cost of building a T56 and finding a clutch that can handle the power of a 600 +/- RWHP car made it a no brainer for me to go with a 4L80e.
Will I miss driving a manual transmission car? Probably sometimes, but I'm sure that'll go away quickly when I mash the pedal down and my turbocharged rocket ship takes off.

Added: Evo462 Do you already have the 4l80e? If so is it built already(valvebody, pan, t brake etc...)? I've got a manual mvb in mine from jake with his pro style t brake. I love being able to 'shift' my gears with my b&m quicksilver shifter and b&m t handle shifter. It's almost like driving a manual without the clutch pedal. I have a 6 spd console in my car with a 6 spd shift boot and people think it's a manual all the time. You won't be able to downshift at low speeds if you set up the pro style brake with fixed line pressure like jakes instructions say to. I have a vaccum pump/modulator hooked to my boost ref. fuel pressure reg. and it adjust line pressure acccording to vaccum/boost. It's awesome to say the least how it shifts at part throttle and at full throttle.

Agreed, I felt the same way on my last build going from m6 to th400.
Turbos and automatics go together like vaginas and penises
