Anyone else had to do this with there ATI?

Default Anyone else had to do this with there ATI?

My chrome air box was causing turbulence going through the MAF. I had to switch to the plastic piece. We also had to install a second surge valve on the other I.C. to get rid of the turbulence in the air box. These two problems were causing my car to randomly switch between positive and negative LTFT's. Has anyone else had to do this to there car?

How did the car drive with this condition, kind of like a lagging?

Odd. No problms w/ the plastic one huh? Will have to mention that to my buddy, he has a plastic one, but knowledge is power.

Nope, the plastic one solved the problem. It seemed to drive ok before but I never really got on it for fear of it running lean all of a sudden.

Wow, if thats a fix then that would be cool. Mine has some LTFT issues but we replaced the harness and it got better but not all the way fixed. Some dyno runs it did 440 and others 420 if it is turbulance in the Maf that would awnser a few Questions. The car runs great right now and I have jumped on it several times and it pulls hard but I wonder if I'm seeing some of this Turbulance. I emailed Keith to see what he thinks. Tell me how you guys figured this out?

We figured it out through trial and error. The car was perfect when the blower wasn't putting air into the motor. The injectors calibrated fine and everything. As soon as the hose was hooked up to the intake plenum the LTFT's would go positive and not stay consistent, so we figured it must be turbulence. Kieth started thinking and realized the only cars he had seen this problem on had the chrome plenums in common. So we put a plastic one on and it got a little better, but it wasn't perfect. So he decided to try another surge valve on the passenger side I.C. in case one side was over powering the other. It worked! Now I just need to solve some belt slip issues and get it dynoed again. We're not sure why only a hand full of cars have had this problem and most work fine. Hope this will fix your car too.

Me too! Procharger is bringing in a car so that Keith can confirm the results. Keith also said he has the parts to try it on my car so we'll give it a go. Thanks for the information I appericiate it.
