precision vs turbonetics? anybody done a comparison on the dyno

BS..if equal covers. Turbone wheels are the same, so the exhaust is a mute point. If they use an H series cover, then you would need the T-series covers on the Turbonetics. Apples to apples my friend. Also check out Turbonetics new HPC billet wheels as well if you want billet and want to stick with the Turbonetics. Either brand will get the job done as we use both.

thanks for the info. so the 67 will make more power then the TC series but equal to the T series. i didnt know they were two diff turbos

The turbine wheels are good, but almost a direct swap of their 62, 65, and 68 previous wheels, which were the same as Tnetic turbine wheels. Splitting hairs really. As for the comp wheels, the CEA wheels are different aero then the cast Garrett counterparts they use. The CEA 67 is alot better then the cast wheel, Harry and crew did their homework on that wheel, as the cast 67 from Garrett was truth be known was never a good comp wheel anyway. It lays flat early and has a low PR.

I know me and Jose (might have been Dr. T) talked a good bit about tnetics vs. precision and billet vs. cast when we were specing my turbos a year ago. But I do remember That you guys said precision did a good job of picking which compressor sizes to release early, basically that they targeted the oldest lowest performing garret wheels so that they could show big improvements. Genius on there part.
I was looking at either 66 or 67 and basically you guys said I should get tnetics 72's cause it was basically a cut down 76 and that the areo was much better. I wanted the 68mm turbine and precision 6768 was going to be quite a bit more x2.

well its between PT6766's or PT6768's. with either a .81 or .96 a/r. there is a $300 each difference between the two. one is a small shaft and the other uses a bigger shaft.whats the diff? which combo should i use? 6766's with .96 or 6768's with a .81 a/r's

Check out the new Turbonetics 6968 HPC billet if you need billet and close to 70mm. Its retarded good...

The TC70 and the larger cover 67-68 will be almost dead even. But its apples vs oranges. Run the T-series cover 70 which uses the same cover as the 67-68 and the 70 makes more power. Not rocket science in this. Now go with the T-series billet HPC 69mm and its going to make retarded power. Or you can do the PTE billet 71mm and its awesome too. Its one of those things you have to compare apples to apples. Alot of dealers have no clue about the turbos other then what the catalog says, but you have to read the fine print. Comparing different turbos with different covers or turbine wheels vs another with different wheels, cover combos gives you no legitimate information.

I'll add come confusing tests to the mix....
Turbonetics TC7668"s with the small 60 series covers ran 155mph at ~ 21psi.
Put on a set of Turbonetics hp7668's with the S cover and ran the same.
The cut down 60 series covers don't kill power as much as you would think.
The 68mm turbine is the limiter...
