Default twin 88s or 106mm or 118mm turbo

doing a 7 sec build.

ordered a precision 106mm billet 1.32 ar. then they called and said there would be a long wait

should I do twin garret 88s OR a precision 106 billet, or I can get a GOOD DEAL on a precision 118mm?

427 cube lsx....

doesn't everyone stay away from the 118s since its hard to get them to spool up?

ohio boys went from a 118 to a 106 didn't they?

I say stick with the 106. That's the best match for you engine out of the options you listed. TT88 or 118 are going to be laggy beasts. From what i've read and heard; theres not much difference in power or spool with the billet wheels - just more $.

ive got a 103mm on my car and it will make enough power to run low 7's no problem at all,

even a 91mm will be enough to run 7's on with out rasing a sweat we ran 8.2 on 18psi with a far from perfect converter..

Doing a 7 sec. build and asking what turbo to go with on LS1tech... You better be getting some help.

how fast do you want to go? 94mm is more than enough to go into the 7s.

I'm running a billet 106 on my 427 and still haven't fully realized its potential, but it should have enough to go bottom 7s. 1.32 A/R makes it somewhat difficult to spool...you need to make sure you have the right combination in the engine...

In the end if it were my build I would run a 98mm turbo. It would come online MUCH sooner than the 106 and provide well more than the power you need for 7s.

With my 463 solid roller I was originally going to run a 98mm but was later convinced it would spool a 106 w/o trying too hard and went with that.

Exactly my thoughts.

Which is why I suggested the PT101 and/or PT98. Both would be much better suited to the 427 c.i. motor. Now if it is going to be an all out drag car like phils and never see the light of day on the street a pt106 would work, but I still think a PT101 would be better, with a PT98 being plenty. Hell Brian went 7.99 with a 98mm on a 366 c.i. motor.

You should be able to better his short times with the added cubic inches and still run out the back door just fine.

Quick Reply: twin 88s or 106mm or 118mm turbo
