Mike, I'd be interested in knowing how many units at what pricing your company would have to sell to make this proposition worth doing. Right now your biggest competitor for the 4th gen F-body market is probably the Procharger P1/D1 setups. If the price and power output could compete with a D1 setup and the underhood packaging and install were no more involved you'd have a winner.
I've been looking at EPP's D1 kits for a few months now. If you made a kit competitive with those I'd take a serious look.

The initial investigation will be off of a CAD model with our 2.9L blower over laid on the motor (just like the link in this post) to see where we will have issues with fitment. Once we make changes (if possible) to get the blower to fit in the CAD model, then we will get a car(s) in to fit it to. At that point, if all checks out and the kit will work, then we will start ordering in the production pieces and start taking deposits.

Dam from a business stand point w/ 354 votes let’s say you sell 100 @ $7000 that’s 700k profit. Now just subtract whatever it cost to make this kit. I'm surprised it’s taken someone so long to make this kit. I mean it pays for itself after selling at least 4 or 5.

Revenue. Profit is after cost is taken out.

Plus, the cost of making a kit is larger than you think when you start talking about man hours. Figure each person working on the project is making an average of $30/hour, and bringing something like this to market is going to take upwards of 1000 man hours (40hours person/week, it adds up quickly). Now you have to take into account the manufacturing and tool-up costs as well.
Is it profitable, maybe, hence why this thread was made. I'm sure the accountants have a break even production number, so they need to figure out if there's enough to exceed that amount by at least double to make it worthwhile.

Im no expert but honestly I feel like it wont be that hard/costly if in fact the 2.9 blower fits on a 4th Gen. They have the blower designed and built for other cars already. One or 2 engineers screwing around on the computer and if it fits theyd have everything mapped out just see if they can bolt it on a test car and go. Procharger literally rapes the market and Im surprised they havent gotten in sooner but alot of guys out there actually still throw serious money into their 10+ year old Fbodies..

Im all for a PD blower, ialmost pulled the trigger on a m112 setup from lmspeed a few years ago, but after seeing previous attempts, im not putting much hope into it. If whipples goes though with it, i will be amazed.
