Question Need help with cam size for a turbo 4.8

Hello everyone,

I'm kind of new to the site first off, but not new to the car game. Currently I am in the process of building a 4.8 turbo to go in my 88 mustang. I was going to use a Z06 cam but can't find one at a price I like. So my next choice was a used turbo cam but again none for a price I liked. So I'm deciding to go with a custom grind cam for my set up unless there is someone who make a good out of the box cam that will work for my set up. I have no clue what cam sizing I should use so essentially I'm looking for someone who could spec me out a cam. I'm looking to pull out somewhere between 6-700WHP I will spin the motor up to 6,500. I was thinking something in the neighborhood of cam like this 216/224 .050 duration .565/585 lift 116 LSA

Here is my set-up:
Stock 4.8 rotating assembly
ARP head studs and rod bolts
Ported 241 heads with patriot gold spring kit and stock rockers
Stock ported throttle body
LS1 intake
80lb injectors
6.0 truck manifolds
tc78 turbo
th400 trans built with a trans brake
3.27 or 3.55 gear in the rear

thanks for the help guys

I've heard that their are guys on ebay that make Z06 clone cams for very cheap. My buddy bought one of their gm hot cam clones and like it a lot.

I'm trying not to cheap out on crucial parts like that. So does anyone have any ideas?

what price don't you like on a z06 cam. How can a 150-175 be more expensive than spending 350. be patient, i got my z06 cam on here for 150, they are out there.

I refuse to pay more than $140 shipped for a stock used cam for a used turbo cam I'd be happy for $200-250 depending on use

The VTC 1 from VA speed would be a good street / strip turbo cam for a 4.8.

I've got a new 208/214/.553/.561, 114 that would work good in a 4.8. I'd prob let it go for $250.

FYI, for a turbo you need a reverse split cam, not a traditional split cam.
