Default How much can a stock LQ4 take?

I read through the stock bottom end vs boost list but didint really find what i wanted i plan on a stock lq4 with katech rod botls, arp head studs, and ls9 gaskets on 317s with hardend PRs. want to boost to 12.5 max on a mild SD tune using a t76 or 78. will that be to much for a otherwise stock Lq4 or not

If tuned right and you keep the RPMs down in the 6-6.2K range, it will live.

I sure hope it will. I researched a lot for my build and it sounds like it should. I'm going the same route on a t76 with 15lbs or so,but I may do a cam in the spring. But my thoughts are if you keep the rpm down and enough fuel it should live

12 lbs and 15 lbs aren't the same thing.

my 6.0l on 15-18psi and 16 timing lasted 4 years with rod bolts a tu1 cam with pushrods and 918 springs lol. Pump gas with meth. It still runs, just burns oil now limiter is at 6400 and man o man does it ever get used. I rape it religously.

Interesting choice of words

OP, what fuel are you planning on using?

Max Mitchell has seen some super numbers. Personally I wouldn't worry about rod bolts at those rpm's. U never seen any longevity gains!

I understand what you are saying. From my research people are running that much and not having issues as long as the tune is there.my point was it should be fine at 12psi.

Should survive fine IF the tune is right.
