Stick with LS3 shortblock or go iron?

I kind of laughed when he told me because I thought he was joking but no laughing out of him. I already have a turbo lined up from a friend. I did not see anywhere on his site where you have to buy everything from him. So I just thanked him for his time and will do my business elsewhere. Business must be good for him so props to that.

but im sure you will put it down either way turbo or nitrous..and btw i have stock casting ls3 heads milled .020" on my friends vette and we have seen about 900rwhp at 5k rpms with no signs of pushing water..once i change out his valvesprings I am goin for for over 1000hp once everything is ironed out and thats on e85

I'd put a thick deck head on it and not look back. You can do it without, but will be easier with the thick deck head. I'd look into 3 pumps, new lines, 160lb injectors and a good 88mm. Car should FLY in Texas, Curtis's car did good and only was making ~950rwhp and A LOT heavier down there than your car will be.

The iron blocks get thin between the cyls. I have 4 here that sonic >.120'' and 2 with cyls >.100''. There have been several Iron 6.0L blocks that have split cyl walls. The iron block as a whole is more robust but the cyl's arn't all that great IMO.
Keep the current short block and put a set of 317's on it and let the bitch eat with the E85 with head studs and a solid tune you'll have zero lifting issues. If you decide to lower the compression, keep it around 9:5-1 or 10:0 so it drives nice out of boost. Hell I wouldn't go lower than 10:5-1 since your running E85

Use a good in-tank pump,Y'd into a big external pump(Magnafuel, Fuel Lab etc) on a hobbs switch, -10 feed and return and ID2000's. Will support a whole bunch of power on E.
I'm doing that set up on my similar on my Z0.

Who are you using? A gt4788 or twins would be the way to go. Keep the ls3, and go with aftermarket heads, ls9s gaskets or oring with stock heads and headstuds over torqued, good converter and 3.23 or 3.08ish gears and you will enjoy the car for quite a while.
Also some of us run the aem truboost or a gm boost noid and mbc to have a high/low setting.
