Default Throttle Body Recommendation

Here is a picture of the set up I am using. What throttle body would you recommend that would mount up to the elbow. How big? Here are the engine specs:

5.3 stock bottom end
arp rod bolts, head studs, LS9 gaskets, 160lb injectors, E85,LS HD timing Chain, Patriot Gold Dual Valve Springs, XER273 224/230 .581/.588 114 Factory PC and wiring harness, Hp tuners. Goal is around 850rwhp and running 15-19lbs of boost with twin Pt62/62's with .58 AR

you don't need alot of throttle body for FI applications. I only ran a 90mm on mine at the 2000+ hp level.

So, could I just use a stock ls1 throttle body then for my goals? Does the stock TB bolt right up to the elbow or do you need an adapter?

That Elbow doesn't look like it has a bolt pattern for a stock ls1 TB. Stock ls1 TB is 3 bolt all the other new and bigger TBs are 4 bolt.

If you are set up for it just get a 90mm 4 bolt TB.

Allthough I have gone 9.5@147 on a stock 78mm TB

any reason why you cant put the factory stuff back on? if not i guess you gotta pony up for whatever fits that thing.

Thanks. I got the intake and rails for only $250 so I dont mind spending some on a throttle body. Just wasn't sure if I needed to. I guess the fact that it is 4 bolt decides for me. Thanks.

i dont see you getting 850whp out of a 5.3 at 19psi

I have had several aftermarket throttle bodies. I also had a ported stocker. Many of the stockers benefit from relieving the full throttle stop to allow the blade to open to parallel position. I had a BBK and now use a Trickflow. The Trickflow is the best so far. smooth transition, great response. A quality piece IMO.

It's not so much the hp as it is to break 6 sec in the 1/8. It should take around 15-19 psi to make that happen in my car.

FWIW-I found a UMI 90MM throttle body 4 bolt in new condition, used for mock up only for $200. That should be just about right for what I am doing and saving around a $130 over another aftermarket one I was interested in.

Just thought I would post that I found a 4 bolt UMI 90mm throttle body, Used but only for mock up and the occasional times they moved vehicles. $200. This should do the job.
