"this isnt attainable posts are not helpful"?? let me tell you the only 9 second cars i see on the street that are dependable are being towed to the track or back. there is no dependable once you hit nines, you will and i repeat will break stuff. expensive stuff. and i get it you cant afford rear end and trans right now but your car will only be as strong as its weakest link. doing 10k in engine and tranny only to have your rear end snap and not be able to hook at all is not going to go well. and something not mentioned yet, if this hp and ls motor are going into an f body forget it. you need the rear end do a search and find how notoriously weak the f body rear is, it has broke on stock motors.
you say you cant wait to try the ls1 trust me theres a bid difference between the lt and ls, and the post above is correct a built heads cam car can gain 500rwhp and personally i think you will love it. you can even get a stroker kit for that car and make a 383, then do heads/cam/intake and for that little extra, but the bottle on it. im surprised the people in this section arnt warning you about the truth that in FI at that 9 second level **** breaks. no sense in spending 10k only to have to replace 4k in it when something goes. just my 2 cents. if this is what you want its your car go for it, but IMO you will spend more than you think and i think it would be smarter to step your way up from a stroker heads and cam car that may even be enough to settle your appetite. it sounds from your goal your trying to build a car that will beat everything in 50 miles from you, if this is what you want the 500rwhp setup will still dominate most everything you come across and you will still be able to droive it home not trailer.

and if your hell bent on FI, buy a procharger from brute speed. get the d1sc. full kit with fuel upgrades. $6600. 550 hp, done.
use the rest on a rear end and tranny.

easiest way is to buy my car. it made 700rwhp on 15psi, with the 42lb injectors, now it has 96lb'ers so you should be able to squeeze 900rwhp out of it
you can either swap the parts out from my car over to yours or just finish getting the transmission in order.

If I lived closer smokinhawks car would be in my garage. Forged motor, built rear, th400, capable fuel system and a 88mm turbo kit for 11k. No way can you replicate that for that amount.

Thats probly the best way. Even doing it yourself $10k is too low to build a reliable 700hp vehicle. Sure you could do a 1 pull wonder.

If using a non LS chassis a guy could ditch the factory ecu, and HP tuners for the Holley HP EFI for $1500. Much easier to deal with IMO. Also a guy could pick up some of the stuff used and save a bit.

I dont see how it cant be possible with all the junkyard builds on this site and people making crazy power and driving their setup all the time on the street and to the track. If he wants to play it safe and stay within his budget and with his car now, then IMO, why not just grab a junkyard truck engine, go thru it and make sure its in order, replace bearings possibly depending on miles and looks and freshen it up. Then spend money on a quality turbo setup but possibly go with used on what you can and look for deals, not just grab everything at once for whatever the first price you find and dont go with cheap china ****, you will end up buying twice if you know what I mean. If you have enough money left over from your budget (usually never happens) then forged the motor and you're good to go, if not, keep the boost down until you have enough for a forged rotating assembly and THEN turn the boost up, if it holds, it holds, if not, well thats what the saved money is for then. Go and grad a forged rotating assembly and you know you can turn it up and hit your goals! Just a thought, good luck!

edit: I didnt see if OP needs all new suspension or not, if his car is ready for the power, then I dont see the problem, if he needs a rear and all the added stuff underneath to keep the power on the pavement, then 10k will not be enough for something worth running 9's with safely.

That's basically what I have. It's a 346ci LS6 with twin turbos.

Yep. I posted in it a few years ago. $10K is not even in the ballpark by the time all is said and done.
