Default Critique: My radiator/condensor/puller fan setup

Hi all, I'm waiting to get my block back before I begin to install my single TC78 front mount turbo setup. I have a KYTP TC78 A/C(header mani's) and my plan is to keep A/C and go with a shrouded puller fan setup. I ended up picking up the Griffen radiator that most people tend to go with. I also picked up a flex-a-lite shrouded puller(FLX-420). Anyway, just curious if anyone has sandwiched the condenser, radiator, and low profile pullers together and still have good clearance from the turbo and crossover piping. The setup will be stood up of course.

I took some pics to show depth. I know that the stock fans protrude further off center, but I measured more from the center as that is where the turbo is going to be positioned anyway.

If I cut the shroud in these areas from the inlet and outlet it should sit nice and flush against the rad.

Ground shots
Griffen rad and flx420

Stock rad and puller fans

Stood up shots with condenser
Griffen, flx420, and condenser. Approx 5 3/4 inches (Note that this isn't firmly sandwiched together. May save an extra 1/2 inch.)

Stock rad, condenser, pullers(approx 7 1/2 inches)

I think I'm saving a good couple inches with this setup and adding that with a stood up radiator I should have some good room up front for everything to clear. Is there anything I should be concerned about before cutting the fans and mounting everything together? Also, since the block isn't in yet is it best to get the rad setup mounted then drop in the engine. I'm pretty sure that is a yes, but curious to hear otherwise.

Thanks, I hope it comes together nicely. It seems low enough profile to work pretty well and I think that having the shroud with help channel the airflow through the condenser and radiator just like stock.

It seems like no one really does pullers on here. Most go with pushers, but then again my setup is to retain AC and I was hoping to mount my trans coolers on the front of the condensor like I currently have. There has got to be someone that has pullers around here.

I have these same exact fans. had to mount them as pushers, because of the necks on the radiator. Doesn't seem to fit properly over the front. It will be interesting to see if this works for you.

Ive been trying a bunch of different ways to have legit ac that works all the time not just on the highway. Although my set up is alot different im currently working with 2 spal 12 inch fans that flow 1600cfm each. These things are really powerful. Im going to have them as pushers as ive replaced my tc78 with a much larger turbo. They will push through the condensor and then radiator, Im going to mount 2 large trans coolers with brackets in front of the fans so the air will be pulled through them

Not sure how this will work but im running out of options.

I really like your setup, do you know what cfm those fans pull? I like that its a shrouded puller, those usually work alot better.

That's what I'm worried about. I here alot of guys try different fan setups, but have not heard a solid solution. Each fan is rated at 2500cfm and I know that isn't a much as some of the spal fans out there, but I think just shrouding the fans will force it to pull air through way more efficiently then just blasting air at it from the front.

If each of those fans really pull 2500 cfm you will be fine. How many amps do they draw?

Any update on this? I also looked into those fans and they both pull 2500cfm,not each one.

So the condenser can be stood up vertically without being too tall?

This is the same route I am going. I have put up pictures of mine somewhere. The fans do only pull 1250cfms a piece. The AC condenser doesn't hang any lower than the intercooler. Hope it works out. I have a lot of other bridges to cross before I know if it works out alright for a definate answer though.

^Just posted in your other thread then came here update with some pics. Yeah, i'm in damn near the same boat as you with this setup. Here are some pics to see how it's coming out. It looks promising though and even though these don't pull as much air as some, I think just shrouding them helps to channel it. We will see. I'm probably going to get a different condenser though. What did you do for your AC lines?

I'm keeping all accessories. The biggest headache accessories wise(so far anyway) is the ABS relocation and condenser. The ac compressor and alternator stays where it is.

Just thought I'd bump this back to the top. I've been driving around with these pullers and rad setup for a couple months. The car doesn't get temps over 195 degrees. It sits around mid 180's to low 190's. Just thought I'd share. If you are looking for a good rad/puller fan setup I would think about this if it's within budget.
