Default Need help!!!! ASAP!!!

Hello all,
I am having some electrical issues I can not figure out! The car is a 02 turbo trans am. I am killing a red top in three day with the car just sitting in the garage. I have traced out all the guages I have installed and none of that is pulling power. If I take the main power off of the fuses and stick a multi meter between.. the boxes are pulling 6.86 amps? Is that normal? Any help or ideas where to look would be great.... I also noticed the in car fuses the defrost/seats breaker is getting crazy hot...

No idea what you are trying to do here?? Killing a red top? What is that ????

On a side note, a decrease in voltage will create an increase in amperage (i dont know if thats AC specific or applies to DC??..hmm.) In other words... check the simple things first.. Grounds... connections...proper operating voltage....etc.

But anyways... can you break down what exactly you are trying to do and what is and isnt working? Maybe im an idiot.. but i have no idea what you wrote really.

Try disconnecting your battery and hooking up your multimeter between the cable end and the battery terminal, then start pulling fuses and find which one lowers the amps. Then when you find out what fuse circuit its on you could start disconnecting individual accesories and solenoids while watching the amps. Theres always going to be a slight draw on a late model car but that seems a little high. You noticed the defroster/seat fuse getting hot? Does anything on that same circuit not work? If you need a schematic or anything I have access to mitchell data, I can get you any info you need.

I'm assuming he means killing his Optima Red Top battery every 3 days with the car just sitting there.

Red top = Optima battery?

Theres a way to put a test light or meter between the battery & the terminal while its disconnected. Then pull fuses until the light goes out / you lose power. The drain will be on that fused circuit

Tested every fuse in the car... nothing made it drop.. the only weird thing that happens is when I pull the defog/seat 20a breaker in the car... It makes the amprage jump to 15.xx and the seats are not working what so ever.....

pull them til you see the main culprit. you should be at less than 1 amp draw with meter between the battery post and lead. anymore than 1 amp is way to much and will cause battery to drop.
