The blower has an internal bypass valve.
I have installed 3 eaton blowers over the years that were part of kits without intercoolers. I'm not saying its the most efficient, but it works. If you've seen an eaton get so hot it sizzles, then something is wrong with it.

very nice fab work. i just got done building a set up for a friends sand rail with lexus 4.0L v8 m90 air to air intercooled it was my first sc build have always messed with turbos. it made 305rwhp 318ftlbs at 6psi and it does some cool wheelies. im trying to get my hands on a 6-71 to put on a lq4 for my 1960 gasser falcon build.

I really like this. I want(ed) to do a twin M90 kit on my old car but when my M112 came off my GTO, I used it instead.
I built a new tensioner for my maggie and am making a gauge indicated (not MAP) 13 psi. Car is running better than ever. And I no longer have any belt slip issues nor worry about a super heavy spring pressure killing off the other accesories.
Just installed a NW 90mm TB with remote IAC and spaced the blower up an additional 3/4". Heading to Speed Inc for a new tune soon. I'm hoping to be over 500 rwhp on my little 5.3
