what head gasket... cometic or mls
what head gasket... cometic or mls ok so i have a 5.3 that has head studs car will be seeing upwards of fifeen pounds. i have an option of cometic mls or just factory mls i have both so price isnt the issue just whatever is better. ive heard of issues with water sealing on the cometics, thats my only concern with. btw car will be mainly street driven if that . thanks nick

main problem is if you put a smaller size gasket then the bore or chamber then your heads.
cometics dont really seem to have an issue any more.
I had some cometics way back when that leaked, but the problem was i was using a 3.9" bore size with 6.0L heads that have a 4.0 size so the gaskets over hung, got the right gasket, no problems.
the cometics seem to be about the same quality as the MLS GM's so might as well just get lower cost ones unless you need a specific size.
