On borrowed time with that piece of junk, especially if you have traction

I'm still running the 10 bolt yet, it hasnt skipped a beat yet for me. I don't launch hard on it or anything but I do run street tires which helps out the life of it.

I went 10.5@135 with 3.42 geared 10 bolt with just a girdle with a 1.67 60' when I was making 600rwhp Procharged with a T56. I made it complete season like that

I did have a cracked worm gear in the posi(would bind making turns) but never broke the grears.

With an automatic, not running slicks or any type of traction aid in the diff it has gone low 10's in members cars on here and plenty of low 11 high 10's. It's just a matter of when though, and it will happen sooner or later. Save up for a S60 or a Fab 9 if your running a M6 S60 preferably strength wise I don't think you can get much beefier than a S60 with a M6. If you have an auto 12 bolt will work fine, and a 9" will too and be a little lighter in comparison to the 12 bolt. Fab 9 will be a good bit lighter.

I had one with my v1, made 660. It will hold just fine on the street with street tires. First time it hooks at the track etc its done.

some ppl have luck with the 10 bolts and some dont'..just assume you will be one of those whose does'nt have luck and get your hands on a stronger rear ASAP.

my 96 WS6 was a 6 speed with 10 bolt and 4.11 gears..i broke it with a very mildly built LT1 lauching on DR's at 2500 RPM

my current 99 procharged SS has went 11.3 with the stock 10 bolt and 3.23 gears and I even cut a few 1.6 60ft times on that rear..but it now has a Moser 12 bolt with 3.90 gears and I now have NO FEAR when launching at the track..and that's a good feeling

Mines still going strong after around 400lbs of nitrous going thru my motor at around 500rwhp. Just keep in mind it's a weak bastard. I'm gonna rock a ten bolt for ever. It all depends how you treat it. I very rarely take my car to the track and mostly roll race from a 40 in second. They can survive to an extent. Just be nice to it and know its limits while you save for a better rear

I ran my old D1SC combo with a stock rear end for a year and a half. I had the same issue as DSCHMITTIE and broke 1 LSD but replaced it and it was fine again. I ended up putting a 9" in it before I broke it again. I had probably 20+ mid 11sec passes on it before I got rid of it...I just always eased her out of the hole....lol

I been running my stock 10 bolt for 5 years now. From stock to cam only, heads and cam to its current setup D1SC and forged 347. Its been in its current configuration for about two years and its held fine so far. No track passes but a lot of dig and role racing on street tires. If you are spinning it will last, traction/wheel hop will kill these rear ends.
