Default 76gts, pt88 or something else

I am currently building a 99 Camaro SS that was originally going to be T56 car, that's why I wanted a pte76gts. But now im going with a TH400 with a brake. Im shooting for low 9's now. Should I go with a bigger turbo? I am wanting to keep it a t4 since I already have the crossover made up.

The motor specs are.
370 ci
10 to 1 comp
Lsa heads
Ls3 intake
Patrick g cam 222/226 602/605 on a 115+1

Thanks

Yeah, I've been looking at going that route. I already have the 76gts.

Im mostly worried about back pressure issues.

i would go with the pte88, it really didnt have much lag, even on my 347 cubed.
plus the larger exhaust housing will choke less.
the 88 will also make it easier to get to your goals, you would have to be real light to do that with the 76

Hmm, let me think about it and do a little more research. I dont want to shoot myself in the foot.

Even if the pt88 if lagy compared to the 76gts, a convertor should help with that greatly correct?

Correct, Plus you have more cubes, a higher lift cam, higher CR, and most likely better flowing heads than i have. There shouldnt be much lag at all with a stalled converter and your setup.

I was debating between the same 2 turbos as well but the fact that i would have to extensively modify my existing kit was the deal breaker. I have the 76gts so i am going to use it. Word is they work great with a 370+6sp

Yeah, thats why I wanted the 76gts, I was going to keep it a stick for a while. But since my t56 needs more than I want to put in it, i might as well switch now since it was in my future plans anyway.

I think someone on here has said turbos and autos go good together lol. And i really wasnt the best at driving a stick anyway.

I know it would be fun, but I can't justify spending 1200 to rebuild it plus 400 for a master cylinder and a bleeder and 1000 for a twin disk just to be stuck in the 10s and get beat by cars with half the power.
